Dinner in Decatur

Had a lovely dinner with my friend Suzanne and her mom at a really cute restaurant in Decatur, GA called 2-4-6. This place is known for using local and seasonal ingredients and they have a ridiculous cocktail and wine list. We shared small toasts - they were topped with really creative toppings. I knew I wouldn't remember what they all were so I took a picture of it haha. Dinner was restaurant made agnolotti stuffed with pumpkin and squash in a brown butter sage sauce. Drink: something called the Foxy (brandy, prosecco and something else) and a glass of merlot/Shiraz blend.

Following dinner, I went grocery and table setting shopping for Friendsgiving tomorrow! I just finished preparing the turkey (to brine overnight) and in the process of cleaning up the bird, I had to pull out its HEART!!! It's sort of cute.

Tired now, ready for bed before a day o' cooking! G'nite!

Testing, part II

Omg I did take a picture of Thursday night dinner! ...I just forgot about it.

PS I think I have to work on my food photog skills.

And also a real post:

Thursday: dinner involved grilled cheese sandwiches and butternut squash soup made by Kir, followed by apple butter cupcakes with buttercream frosting made by yours truly.

Friday: Friday night sushi at dasiwa after watching Skyfall!

Also, I have other things I will be posting about but I don't have access to the links right now. For my future self (and as a teaser to you two):

Catching up

Ok what was for dinner...

Tuesday: What other identity could Tuesdays have now except Taco Tuesday. This time we went to a nearby place called the Shore. This is the second time both Russ and I came home with gas from there so I don't think we'll be returning! It was out of the ordinary gas, I assure u. :-)

Wednesday: Salmon made on a skillet with onions and tomato, accompanied by a fresh batch of tabouleh. I love that stuff, who'd've thought?

Thursday [tonight]: Chicken thighs, broccoli, and tabouleh leftovers. I tried to cook the chicken a different way today - baked and then broiled for the last bit of time. I prefer the pan fry/bake method I've done in the past. It came out more flavorful despite the fact that I used more seasonings tonight! Weird.

Also, I bought some wood for the fireplace at a lumber place ("ranch") not too far from here and we made a fire yesterday and today! Very exciting in a caveman sort of way.

Check out this pin on how to cook traditional Mexican dishes!  It's like Pinterest knows that I'm on a quest to eat Mexican food this week.
